How many monthly subscriptions are you currently paying for? If you decide to terminate a subscription, what do you walk away with?
As a little girl, I used to ride my bike every Wednesday to the newsstand and buy a few of my favorite weekly-published comic books. I went home, read them and put each one in its corresponding pile. I had a comic book collection that grew over time, and I loved going through them and reading them again and again.
Those days are gone. Think about it, these days most companies offer monthly subscriptions that give us access to all the products they offer, but once we decide to end a subscription we walk away owning nothing. I am now paying monthly fees to companies that offer access to music, movies, TV-shows, magazines, newspapers, E-books, software, internet, website hosting, cellular service, data, and many more.
I am not a hoarder by any means, I am a minimalist, and like my house clutter free, but I also like to know that if I purchase something, I will own it and will have access to it for as long as I choose to keep it.
